This page explains how BeanFinder handles information when you browse the directory or send a suggestion.
Browsing and hosting
Netlify hosts this site and processes connection information such as your IP address and browser details to deliver pages, operate forms and prevent abuse. Read Netlify's privacy policy for its handling of service data.
Suggestions and corrections
Netlify receives the fields you submit, along with technical information used for spam detection. Listing names, websites, states, cafe and seller status, and your explanatory notes may appear in public GitHub review requests and the directory. Please leave personal or sensitive information out of public listing fields and notes.
Contact details, if supplied, and raw submission metadata are excluded from public review receipts. Suggestions and receipts may be retained for review, recovery and the directory's edit history. Public Git history can retain earlier edits. Contact us if you need help with a submission or personal information.
Google Maps and location
Opening the map loads Google Maps services. Google receives information needed to provide maps and location search, including your IP address and searches entered into the map search field. Google's privacy policy applies to these services.
Your browser requests location access only when you select “Use my location”. BeanFinder uses the result to center the current map and does not save your position in the directory or browser storage. Google Maps may process the map viewport. You can deny or revoke location permission and continue searching manually.
Analytics
BeanFinder does not load Google Analytics or set Google Analytics cookies. Hosting and embedded Google Maps services still process information as described above.
Browser storage and external sites
Your theme choice is saved in your browser's local storage. You can remove it by clearing this site's browser data. Links to roaster websites, Google Maps and GitHub take you to services with their own privacy policies.
